May 24, 2017, Olathe, KS — Last week was a fun-filled and exciting time at Azria Health Olathe! The entire team celebrated the American Health Care Association’s (AHCA) National Nursing Home Week, when skilled nursing care facilities throughout the country celebrate the important role that nursing staff provide for seniors and those with rehabilitation and therapeutic needs in our communities. Each year celebrates with a new theme and this year’s theme was The Spirit of America.

Every day at Azria Health Olathe had something new and exciting to help celebrate The Spirit of America. The dining rooms were decorated with red, white and blue decorations and residents and staff enjoyed a balloon release, root beer floats, musical entertainers, sing-alongs, paper flower tie-dyeing, an ice cream social and an all-American cookout and happy hour, complete with pie and cookies.

Azria Health Olathe Director of Admissions Riley Mason said, “I enjoy that National Nursing Home Week brings everyone together to celebrate what we do. It is nice to see all our staff, residents and their family members enjoying spending time with each other, and it encourages us to take time to remember why we are all here.”

Residents are at the heart of each Azria Health facility, where providing excellent care is the top priority for all of our skilled nursing staff. “During National Nursing Home Week, I got to do a lot of fun activities with the staff and I love being able to interact with them,” said Olathe resident Fred. “This is my home away from home,” added Muzz, a fellow Olathe resident.
